Throughout Watch Dogs 2, Marcus experiences the systemic racism of a near-future America, being judged by all-seeing Big Brother surveillance system CTOS because of the colour of his skin.
I think he’s wiser, and yet still the same fun-loving, passionate guy from Watch Dogs 2.” “In my mind, I also would like to imagine that Marcus has travelled a little bit - maybe connected with other Dedsec members in other cities, seeing where he can help out while also expanding his lens and experience of the world. “I’m sure Marcus has new goals in terms of protecting society for the greater good,” he says. Prentiss offers his own idea of what the character might have been up to in the time between Watch Dogs 2 and Bloodline. I was so excited to see how Marcus had grown and changed since we left him at the end of Watch Dogs 2.”Īlthough Marcus develops during Bloodline, his story is left purposefully vague compared to Wrench and Aiden. Coming back to Marcus after six years was nothing short of a dream come true. “Marcus Holloway is one of my favourite roles I have had a chance to play in my career, and the community of fans that came with the work is simply the best. It kind of came out of nowhere, but I was super excited to get to step into the shoes of Marcus again. “I think Wrench and Aiden were announced last fall and I didn’t find out about the cameo until maybe late February or early March of this year. “It was a while before I found out I would get to make a cameo in the DLC,” Prentiss says. Prentiss wasn’t aware that Marcus would be making a return until late into the expansion’s development. I think that was the key to the lasting impression.”Īlthough Marcus doesn’t make an appearance as part of the main game and doesn’t appear in person during Bloodline, he does show up through audio logs and plays a significant role in Wrench’s final mission. There was such a sense of collaboration and play as we filmed that I believe it was felt in our performances and felt by the player as they explored the game. Every actor I worked with gave their all and we really became a family. The writing, storyline, directing, and casting of the San Francisco Dedsec group was done perfectly. I think, from top to bottom, Ubisoft focused on making a core group of characters that functioned as a family. “Honestly, Watch Dogs 2 was a huge tone shift from the first game. “Just the fact that this question is being asked brings a smile to my face,” Prentiss explains. That’s everything you need to know on whether or not Marcus is in Watch Dogs Legion.
While there’s a possibility he could be added into the game as a bit of random DLC outside of the pass’ offering, Ubisoft hasn’t announced anything like this just yet. All of the Season Pass characters have already been confirmed. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem as though Marcus will ever make his way to Legion’s London, either. This can then be equipped to any of your recruitable characters, though this is just a cosmetic option and nothing more.
He’ll be playable in both the Bloodlines campaign DLC that’s coming to Legion at some point in 2021, and will also be usable to complete the main story missions, too.Īdditionally, players can also get Marcus’ purple jacket in the game by accessing Ubisoft Connect and spending your hard-earned points on it from the ‘Rewards’ section. If you’ve got the Watch Dogs Legion season pass, you’ll eventually gain access to Wrench, one of Marcus’ fellow DedSec hackers from Watch Dogs 2. While this may be disappointing to some players, there is a slight silver lining. Unfortunately, no, Marcus is not in Watch Dogs Legion. While we already know that Aiden Pearce is making his way to Watch Dogs Legion’s London in the near future, some players may be wondering if Marcus is in the game, too. Players found Marcus a lot more relatable than the Marmite protagonist that was Aiden Pearce in the original Watch Dogs. Marcus was the amiable protagonist of Watch Dogs 2, who joined DedSec to fight against the HDC in San Francisco.
